NDS chooses Gallagher as strategic partner

The National Disability Services (NDS) has partnered with Gallagher to provide insurance and risk management advice to support the disability services sector during its transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Insurance Business reports.

Gallagher will be the NDS's endorsed insurance broker, advising the industry body and its approximately 1,000 members during the transition period over the next two years.

In its role as the NDS-endorsed insurance broker, Gallagher's Area Director for Canberra, Mark Saunderson, says the company's key area of focus "will be to help NDS members adapt to the changing landscape with the full roll-out of the NDIS. “This presents a period of transition for NDS members, including those who are purchasing insurance on the open market for the first time.

"In response, we developed SmartProtect Care, an exclusive insurance product providing cover relevant to both independent operators and large organisations,” he says.

Single policy

SmartProtect Care cover is available for both organisations and sole traders and has been purpose built for disability service providers, ensuring they are covered for most of their activities under just one policy.

Pamela Howarth, Gallagher's NDS Account Executive for Canberra, believes this will help care providers obtain the right insurance cover.

“Having a trusted advisor makes a difference for NDS members, especially for inexperienced insurance buyers, and our role is to help them make an informed purchase decision,” she says.
