Mitchell Insurance Management joins Gallagher Australia
Published 01 June 2022
As of 1 June 2022 the Canberra-based insurance brokerage Mitchell Insurance Management (MIM) has become part of our Gallagher Australia business. The acquisition will enable MIM to offer its clients access to an expanded range of services and specialisms as well the benefits of our industry expertise, claims advocacy, placement capabilities and access to global markets.
Founded in 2016 husband and wife directors Nathan Mitchell and Cathryn Mitchell, MIM has achieved exceptionally strong growth. Together the couple has created a vibrant, relationship-focused brokerage that helps local businesses better understand their insurance needs. This is a position that aligns with the Gallagher family business ethos and operational model of contributing in a positive way to the communities in which we operate.
Driving growth through shared values
In joining the 22-strong Gallagher team in Canberra they bring with them a diverse range of clients across many industries, further strengthening Gallagher ACT’s capabilities in business insurance, liability, industrial special risks and workers’ compensation.
“I’m delighted to welcome our new merger partner MIM,” says Gallagher Chief Executive, Australia, Sarah Lyons. “Brokerages which are committed to building trust with clients and investing in people make ideal merger partners for Gallagher.
“Our merger activity is a great endorsement of what we have to offer, from our culture, ethics and our people to the way we work, our business capabilities and our focus on clients.
This is the second merger closed by Gallagher Australia recently, as Woodridge Insurance Services in Victoria also joined Gallagher on 2 May 2022. Tony Carmusciano and his three former Woodridge colleagues are now part of Gallagher’s corporate business in Melbourne.
