This voluntary involvement by Gallagher's employees in causes that they care about contributes to the company’s pledge to give back 90,000 hours of volunteer service to the communities in which the company operates – one hour for each year Gallagher has been in business. The initiative is just one facet of Gallagher’s ethical charter encapsulated in The Gallagher Way, the company's framework of guiding principles for growing a socially responsible business.
The new website and the report are further extensions of this ‘blueprint for better’. The report demonstrates how Gallagher has built a socially responsible business based on The Gallagher Way, and why this is a formula for success.
Both the CSR report and the website provide compelling evidence that trustworthiness, transparency and accountability are business values that endure and, more than that, provide the foundation for continued growth. The proof is that our ethical company has prospered and expanded to a global presence in more than 30 countries, employing some 27,000 people.
It’s those people who empower and enact The Gallagher Way in everyday business operations, as well as donating their time to causes that contribute to the communities where our business operates. That means that Gallagher is making a difference socially, across the globe, and that has been formally recognised – seven years in a row now – by international arbiter the Ethisphere Institute awarding Gallagher World’s Most Ethical Companies status, the only insurance broker in the world to achieve this distinction.
Gallagher's new website portrays the ways in which our company and the people who work for and with Gallagher give back, and how this culture has been achieved. The website and the report share this 'blueprint for better' with the wider community.
