Corporate Social Responsibility

A Blueprint for Better.

We’re fortunate to serve in a manner that exceeds the corporate standard. It’s how we’ve operated since 1927, and it’s grounded us even as we’ve grown from a small brokerage into a FORTUNE 500 company.

You cannot engineer integrity; you must act upon it. We strive every day to provide environmental, social and economic benefits to the communities in which we live and work.

We’re just getting started, and by following The Gallagher Way – our blueprint for success – we’ll continue to establish trust with the communities we serve.

Reconciliation Action Plan

At Gallagher we are committed to creating an inclusive and diverse business for the benefit of our clients, employees and the communities in which we live and work. We acknowledge, respect and celebrate the rich diversity of histories and cultures of Australia’s First Nations Peoples.

Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan outlines our commitment to building and strengthening our connection with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of this country.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We call more than 45 countries home, yet our mission to improve the world transcends borders and cultures. Whether on or off the grid, our teams strive to leave the communities they serve better than they found them.

To mark our 90th anniversary in 2017, our business gave 90,000 hours of service back to our collective communities. Here in Australia we have been active in supporting a range of good causes including the Jodi Lee Foundation, Movember Foundation and The Smith Family.

To find out more about how we are making a positive impact in the communities we serve, both in Australia and around the world, download the 2018 Corporate Social Responsibility Report.

We believe that sustainability is critical to business success and we think that in order to truly be a sustainable organisation we need to do the right thing by not just our business, but also our people, our communities and our environment.

Preserving the environment is more than moral imperative; it’s sound business strategy. We take environmental impact into account in both our major purchase decisions and everyday operations. We actively seek to do the right thing by our environment and reduce our environmental footprint.

Times change, ethics don't

While many things have changed since Arthur set up shop in Chicago all those years ago, the tenets of honesty, integrity and client advocacy that he held dear are as relevant today as ever.

We don’t just pay lip service to this, either. Gallagher is proud to have been recognised as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere®Institute for ten consecutive years from 2012-21. The Ethisphere®Institute is the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices and, as the only insurance broker to have won this award, the recognition underscores our commitment to leading ethical business standards and practices.

This commitment is central to our philosophy as a business – and always will be.
